These services were originally intended to be approximately 30-35 minutes in length, as the sermon was a short 5-6 minute meditation. The group leader pulled the ideas submitted for each service into final drafts that were approved by the full group and sent to those who would be participating in each service. Songs, prayers, litanies, and Scripture suggestions were added. The group met for the first time via Skype to choose the themes for the five services, and then each contributed electronically through shared Google Docs to fill in the services. These worship services were planned by a team consisting of two pastors and two worship leaders in four different locations. Praises were spoken and sung, time was spent in confession and lament, affirmations of faith and testimony were given, Scripture was read and preached, and the prevailing prayer was for God’s will to be done. Multiple styles and genres of music and instruments are used in these services. But, more important, it allows space to listen to God as he speaks and moves among his people. The honest language of the psalms gives voice and expression to the thoughts and heart cries of worshipers. The themes of wisdom, confession and lament, hope and encouragement, praise and prayer, seemed fitting for this body that would be discussing and deliberating decisions that would have future impact on the ministry of the denomination. The overarching beauty and depth in the book of Psalms allowed us some continuity between services. The psalms were chosen as the unifying theme for the morning worship services for the 2015 Synod of the Christian Reformed Church. The psalms not only allow us to say things to God and to each other, the psalms are God’s word to us.” (David Vroege, pastor of All Nations Christian Reformed Church in Halifax, NB) The psalms allow us to say and pray pretty much anything we need to. ![]() ![]() LS_Shadowkiller's Review of Rolling Sky Reviewed on 9/28/18 9:09 PM I Don’t Care star star_border star_border star_border star_border However, you have to fix these mistakes or I’ll delete the game. Peart often writes about scientific themes, including Countdown from Signals, which recounts the maiden launch of Space Shuttle Columbia. The phenomenon is captured in Neil Peart’s lyrics for Earthshine, featured on Rush’s 2002 album Vapor Trails. Regardless of when you spot it, earthshine can be an inspiring site. Clouds and sea ice contribute to the peak in the Southern Hemisphere. During the winter, the Arctic receives very little sunlight and reflects less light. Because snow and ice reflect more light than vegetation or water, the spring is brighter than the summer or autumn, when there is much less snow and ice. During this period, the Northern Hemisphere is tilted towards the Sun and winter snow and ice are still on the ground in the higher latitudes. Satellite measurements of energy reflected from the Arctic provide a picture of why earthshine peaks in the spring. Earth’s reflected light ( albedo) is brightest in the Northern Hemisphere spring with a second, slightly smaller peak in the Southern Hemisphere spring. That reflected sunlight is in turn reflected back off the lunar surface to create earthshine.Įarthshine varies in strength throughout the year, since the light reflected from the Earth varies. An astronaut standing on the Moon after sunset would see a spectacular, fully lit Earth, as shown in the lower right figure. The Moon is reflecting little to no sunlight in Earth’s direction meanwhile, Earth is facing the Sun and reflecting plenty of light back in the direction of the Moon. The Sun is on the left side of the figure (out of the figure at this scale), with sunlight depicted with yellow arrows. The middle figure above shows the positions of the Earth and Moon on July 31, 2011, when the top photo was taken. The photo at the top of the page was taken by an astronaut on the International Space Station on July 31, 2011.Įarthshine is easiest to see around the time of a new Moon due to the position of Earth and the Moon in their orbits. It tends to be brightest between April and June, though it does occur at other times of the year. The dark face of the Moon has a faint shine, a ghostly version of a full Moon. Sometimes the dark face of the Moon catches Earth’s reflected glow and returns that light. You might see Earth’s reflected light in the dim glow.Ī new Moon occurs when all of the Sun’s light is reflected away from Earth, and the side of the Moon facing Earth is barely visible, as illustrated in the above figures. In World War II numerous manuals like this were written to train any 18-year-old to learn advanced skills in a short period of time. To learn watch repair read the manual, US ARMY TM9-1575 (PDF). This video will show you how a modern watch works starting with the spring barrel down to the balance wheel: But this is not as easy as it seems, you must completely tear down your watch movement, clean each little part, reassemble and oil it. Most of the time when you buy a broken mechanical watch all it needs is to be cleaned and oiled. For this reason the slightest bit of dirt and grime in the bearings throughout the gear train causes a movement to stop running. Unfortunately with such gearing there is very little torque at the second hand. The movement is geared up significantly from the winding spring (spring barrel) where one turn of the spring barrel causes hundreds of turns of the second hand. There is no such thing as ‘over wound,’ what actually happens is dirt and grime builds up on the bearings so that wheels (gears actually, the gears are referred to as wheels) can not turn as freely, preventing the movement from running. Pop your watch open at parties and explain how it works to your friends. Besides, most of the fun is being able to wear something you repaired yourself. 9/2/2023 0 Comments Lo fi hip poducer![]() ![]() “Lo-fi” is short for low fidelity refers to a music production quality with imperfect elements on the recording that is usually considered flaws in a professional production. In lo-fi, this imperfection becomes the main feature and is considered as its aesthetic. The standard of fidelity or sound quality in music production has evolved throughout the years. Nowadays, music production has become more and more professional and to a high standard. Old recordings that have the elements of low fidelity weren’t considered as lo-fi back then because the standard for all music hadn’t evolved yet. This explains why there are a lot of modern lo-fi tracks involving old records because the recording quality matches its aesthetic.Įven though lo-fi became a musical genre that is very popular now, it was born a long time ago back in the 1990s.Īt that time, there were a lot of musicians who made alternative music which was often called DIY music. ![]() They made their music at their home studio.Ī lot of musicians also make music in their home studios nowadays, but the sound quality is way different to back then. The beauty of DIY music in the 1990s involved sounds that are considered undesirable such as misplayed notes, degraded audio signals, tape hiss, and environmental interference. Modern lo-fi tracks try to incorporate those aspects into perfectly recorded tracks.Ĭreating an atmosphere where imperfection becomes a part of its beauty. In the latter days, lo-fi become the basis of chillwave and hypnagogic pop music. Lo-fi hip-hop is a branch of hip-hop music with more chill beats and takes the elements from early-day lo-fi music such as imperfect elements and interfering sounds. This genre becomes popular nowadays on streaming platforms, especially YouTube where multiple channels upload lo-fi hip-hop tracks that are usually labeled as music for study or music for nostalgia. The main characteristic of lo-fi hip hop is moody and brings certain feelings and emotions to the listeners. The history of lo-fi can be traced back to the 1950s when a lot of music was produced cheaply and quickly using low-standard equipment. The earliest rock and roll records in the 1950s, garage rock in the 1960s, and punk in the 1970s can be considered as lo-fi. The Beach Boy’s album Smiley Smile which was released in 1967 was credited as the album that invented lo-fi bedroom pop by Pitchfork writer Mark Richardson. Meanwhile, The Beach Boy’s album Wild Honey which was released in 1967 was credited with the idea of DIY pop by the editors of Rolling Stone.īoth albums are part of a trilogy along with Friends that was released in 1968. Those albums were recorded in Brian Wilson’s home studio and were referred to as bedroom tapes later on. ![]() But what about modern days lo-fi hip-hop? Jamie Atkins from Record Collector wrote that many lo-fi acts also “owe plenty” to The Beach Boy’s song “ All I Wanna Do” which was released in 1970.īy all of the credits and records, it is safe to say that The Beach Boy invented lo-fi. In lo-fi hip hop, two names are known as the godfather of lo-fi hip hop. They are Nujabes, a Japanese DJ and producer, and American rapper and producer J Dilla. Nujabes fused the elements of hip-hop, jazz, and electronic to create a unique richer sound with poignant moods. In his music, Nujabes presents innocent feelings along with bittersweet nostalgia, a major characteristic of lo-fi hip-hop today. The popularity of musical genres depends on a lot of things, so it is never easy to decide who makes certain genres popular. There are so many hardworking artists and producers involved in the process. But we cannot deny that producers who upload their works on YouTube play a big role in the lo-fi popularity in the last decade. Lo-fi has a characteristic that brings imperfection as its aesthetic. The tracks feel rawer, imperfect, real, honest, and therefore relatable. We may find it hard to relate to the unnatural perfect music, but it is easier to relate to something raw that includes flaws. It feels more honest and suddenly we feel understood. Lo-fi music has just the right recipe for your brain. ![]() It’s also not so fast it makes you feel anxious. Listening to a lo-fi beat on a loop will create a relaxing effect. It's also got some dragonfruit extract, vegetable juice, natural flavor, electrolytes (magnesium lactate), taurine, B vitamins, monopotassium phosphate, calcium lactate, and ascorbic acid. It's trying to hide but energy drink companies only know so little about it. I've been researching crystalline fructose and you know what it really is? High fructose corn syrup. Overall, I thought this drink had a nice, smooth dragonfruit+berry taste that anybody would enjoy, but perhaps it didn't have enough flavor and was too diluted for avid energy drink drinkers, like Jeff and I.Īs for ingredients, Vitamin Water Power-C has vapor distilled, deionized, and/or reverse osmosis water and is sweetened with cane sugar and crystalline fructose. For a 20 ounce drink I was surprised to have no gumminess at all, even after drinking all of it. There's no carbonation because it's meant for exercising, so you don't have that burning sensation on your tongue while exercising, that would be pretty unpleasant. Luckily, it's not as overpowering as a sports drink. It's aftertaste seems to be that of a sports drink, you know, that nasty burnt fruit taste. This Vitamin Water is trying to say in a paragraph on the bottle "Hey, this drink has a light flavor because the people who use this, use it while exercising." In that case I'll let Vitamin Water go, free of charge only because its got a light, addicting flavor for a reason. I guess the flavor is due to all the vitamins and the amount of sugar, which is only about 30g. The taste surprised me with a diluted dragonfruit taste, that frankly tastes like a sports drink, you know, just bland. This see-through bottle shows a rosy red-purple color, with no fizziness, because it's not carbonated. I twist off the cap to hear crackling sounds and smell a rather light berry aroma. Some last minute details show me a clear twist off cap and the word dragonfruit, revealing the flavor. This drink has no apparent bottle design, just half red and half white, along with some paragraphs and the word Vitamin Water stenciled vertically across the bottle. But Hi-Fi Rush almost feels like a love letter to video games in general in one way or another, be it brawlers and spectacle fighters with intricate special attacks and huge combos, platforming sections both 3D and 2D, more straight-up rhythm games used for certain parries and counterattacks, collect-a-thons with a lot of extra stuff to discover, a more modern emphasis on narrative, and indeed, even some moments poking fun at video game tropes themselves (like Vandelay having literally patented a set of arrows designed to point the way forward, or even a cameo by some of the developers’ other stars). ![]() It’d be easy to just simply say that Hi-Fi Rush is a love letter to an older generation of video games in the same way as a title like Evil West, both being 3D action games with linear stage progression that wouldn’t feel out of home on something like a souped-up Dreamcast. Hi-Fi Rush feels exactly like its creator wanted to make a massive tribute to everything they loved about video games, gathered all of that up, mixed it together and ground it into a powder. Yet to me, one game that oddly kept coming to mind was Saints Row IV, if only because I remember Zero Punctuation describing it as “a big, bouncy, anarchic, irreverent roast of itself and of video games in general,” which not only sounds right here as well, but leads to another term I saw multiple folks using to describe Hi-Fi Rush: “gamelike.” Such a term may sound redundant or even confusing, and yet here fits perfectly. Now, Hi-Fi Rush is best described as a rhythm-action game, and other folks have described the game with comparisons to Jet Set Radio, Sunset Overdrive, Viewtiful Joeand others, be it on visual style, use of music or combat. From there, they’ll team up with a motley crew of new friends in order to strike back at Vandelay and uncover the secret behind their mysterious project SPECTRA. But fortunately, the music player, combined with the magnetic wand his new arm has, allows Chai to summon debris to create a giant attack guitar and sync up all of their attacks and movement with the music playing in order to help them fight back. ![]() Unfortunately, a freak accident gets his music player embedded in his chest, turning him into what Vandelay considers a defect and making them a wanted man. Hi-Fi Rush is the story of Chai, a young man with dreams of being a rock star who signs up for Project Armstrong at the renowned Vandelay Technologies, looking to get a robotic replacement for their crippled arm. So we need to put that part aside for a moment and judge the game on its own merits, and once that’s accomplished, we can truly see that the game is. But while a sudden major release like this is a delight, this has also led to a huge chunk of Hi-Fi Rush’s buzz coming mainly from praise over the shadow drop itself, and coming across like a good chunk of the praise so far come’s from its method of release, how it didn’t suffer from months of marketing, empty promises and whatnot. Last week saw the surprise release of Hi-Fi Rush, which shocked everyone due to the fact that its existence wasn’t even hinted at until a couple of hours before in dropped into digital storefronts, as well as the fact that it was coming from the Shinji Mikami-led Tango Gameworks, making it a high-profile surprise release. ![]() 9/1/2023 0 Comments Pvc pipe bird feeder stand red![]() ![]() It comes in either a sunny yellow or bold teal color.
