You have to lay the machine sideways and remove the two screws under the top and then remove 3 screws on the back top edge of the machine. A steam pipe will need to be removed and replaced.Įasy to replace the whole steam wand fixture once you figure out how to take the top off the machine. Remove top plate and front panel to gain access to the mounting screws, remove 3 screws to free up the top plate then place new plate with stem wand back in position and replace screws. Reverse procedure checking white washer is in place under housing. Remove three screws holding wand housing and connecting pipe. Remove top two screws at rear and two recessed holes near tamp holder and steam wand. Refit wand to base plate incorporating small parts. Separate wand from new base plate being careful to retain small parts. Removed top section, removed hose to base plate, remove screws and lift base plate. Instructions on how to replace the wand are easily found online and on youtube It is a bit fiddly as the screws are small and theres not much room for large fingers inside the machine. Slowly stripped the unit and once I worked out how it fitted, I replaced the unit Finally attach tube and its done.įairly easy to replace but make sure the steam pipe is securely attached. Turn the part on its side to tighten screws and then mount into machine. The tube is very short making it hard to find an angle to insert the screws. Undo the new steam wand from the mount and then fit the tube. The existing steam wand is easy to remove but remember to keep the rubber seal - the new one did not have a new part for this. The top of the machine must be removed, the back screws are visible but the front screws are recessed and harder to find. Phillips head screwdriver, preferably small fingers and some patience ) but the coffee is worth it Take pics if you need too but it is relatively simple - its just your working in a small space. I think fitting the part is very self explanatory. If no leaks insert top of expresso machine and insert screws. If there are leaks apply a small amount of sealant to the sides of the water tube section which inserts into the steam wand assembly. Insert screws for the water tube and the steam wand assembly. Remove the steam wand assembly and insert the replacement assembly. Remove the screw attaches the water tube to the steam wand assembly. Remove the screws which anchor the steam wand assembly. Remove the screws which retain the top of the expresso machine. Lastly the rubber protective sleeve can be put on the steam wand.Įasy fit - remove top of machine, unscrew top of wand. The top of the machine must be removed then the steam hose to the connector and remove and replace the stream wand assembly before reconnecting the steam supply hose and replacing the top of the machine. Was not hard to fit for someone with some basic mechanical logical knowledge.
